Our Background

MCF was born out of a strong desire to transform lives and make a positive impact at the community level through strategic interventions that lead to meaningful outcomes.

It was the dream of Olorogun Michael Ibru and his wife, Dr. (Mrs.) Cecilia Ibru, to give back to society. They wanted to alleviate the hardship and poverty in the South-South/Niger Delta region and they knew that the best way to reduce poverty is through quality education, community development projects, and women empowerment.

Our founders’ efforts to alleviate poverty and make life more meaningful for people in Nigeria and other countries align with Target 1.4 of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals: “By 2030, ensure that all men and women, in particular the poor and the vulnerable, have equal rights to economic resources, as well as access to basic services, ownership and control over land and other forms of property, inheritance, natural resources, appropriate new technology and financial services, including microfinance.”
